Honors Drawing and Painting
Option 1: Experimental Approach
The goal of this approach is for students to experiment with different art materials and skills. These could be materials they've used in the past that they want to improve their skills with. They could also be materials that they've never worked with before. The expectation with each project is that students are exploring something new and pushing themselves out of their comfort zone.

Option 3: Mastery
The goal of this approach is for students to focus specifically on using a certain material or a specific art skill for the entire semester. The goal is for them to improve on this skill and "master it" by the end of the semester. Preferably, studentswould stick to one material and skill for the entire year. Example of different art skills could include a focus on portraiture, landscapes, linear perspective, abstraction, etc.
